We have the pleasure to announce the fourth Summer School of International Economics for PhD Students, Advanced Master’s Students, Postdoctoral Researchers by the Journal of International Economics. The Summer School will take place at Bocconi University in Milan from 6 – 8 July 2026.

The initiative aims to bring together PhD students, Advanced Master’s Students from institutions worldwide and introduce them to frontier topics and techniques in international economics. The program features high-profile lectures by leading scholars in international economics and offers ample opportunities for participants to discuss ongoing research. 

This year, we are pleased to have as instructors Cecile Gaubert (University of California Berkeley), Christoph Trebesch (Kiel Institut), David Hémous (UBS Foundation), Federica Romei (University of Oxford Hertford College), Christopher Clayton (Yale School of Management) and Natalia Ramondo (Boston University).

We welcome applications from PhD Students, Advanced Master’s Students, Postdoctoral Researchers in Economics from all geographical areas as well as diverse personal backgrounds. Interested applicants must submit a CV and a cover letter. The link for the application and other information for the workshop can be found at here.

The deadline for the application is 25 January 2026.

For accepted students the participation fee is $150. If you wish to apply for financial assistance by reduced fee waiver, please include a short paragraph in your cover letter explaining your request.
