Determinants and Effects of Sustainable Public Procurement
Public procurement (PP) is increasingly used as a strategic policy instrument to advance environmental sustainability, social inclusion and broader industrial policy objectives. Public procurement increasingly is being used as a tool to green the economy and achieve environmental, social responsibility and sustainability goals. Robust evidence on the determinants of sustainable public procurement (SPP) and their effectiveness and efficiency in attaining associated economic, environmental or social impacts remains limited. This special issue aims to bring together rigorous empirical and theoretical research that deepens our understanding of the extent to which public procurement can deliver on such noneconomic objectives.
