Association
The Italian Economic Association is a scientific association whose aim is to promote research, education, and dissemination in the field of economics.
The SIE – Italian Economic Association:
- fosters collaboration among economists to advance economic research in Italy;
- promotes research projects, surveys, and scholarly publications;
- organizes scientific meetings and conferences;
- cooperates internationally with related academic associations;
- promotes and encourages the dissemination and teaching of economics in Italy;
- supports all initiatives that advance research in economics and share its results, including reprinting classical works, translating foreign publications, collecting bibliographic materials, and establishing awards to promote the development of economic science in Italy.
History
The Italian Association of Political Economy was established in Turin in May 1950.
Statute
The activities of the Italian Economic Association are governed by its Statute.
Organization
The governing bodies of the SIE include the Presidential Council, the Board of Arbitrators, the Board of Auditors, the Council of Former Presidents, and the General Assembly of Members.
