The Italian Economic Association (Societá Italiana degli Economisti, Italian Economic JournalSIE), founded in 1950, today counts more than 800 members, predominantly professors and academic researchers in various fields of economics. The SIE’s central aim is to favor and stimulate economic research in Italy. Among the Association’s activities are the organization of the Annual Scientific Meeting, the publication of the Italian Economic Journal and the awarding of the SIE Prize for PhD theses in economic disciplines disputed at Italian universities.
