The Italian Economic Association (Societá Italiana degli Economisti, SIE), founded in 1950, today counts more than 800 members, predominantly professors and academic researchers in various fields of economics. The SIE’s central aim is to favor and stimulate economic research in Italy. Among the Association’s activities are the organization of the Annual Scientific Meeting, the publication of the Rivista Italiana degli Economisti – The Journal of the Italian Economic Association, and the awarding of the SIE Prize for PhD theses in economic disciplines disputed at Italian universities.
